ABOUT THE ARTIST

Ginger Reynolds was born in the late 70’s in Colorado to artist parents, Dennis and Erin Reynolds.  From birth she was exposed to the wonderful world of art.  As soon as she could hold a pencil, she was drawing.  Being that she was around art all her life, it was many years before she realized that this was a talent to be utilized.   When she was about three years old, her parents moved to the Eastern Plains of Colorado to a small “cow town” called Deer Trail.  This is where she grew up. Growing up her parents would take trips to Rocky Mountains and just travel the country side to do “Open-Air” paintings.   Although her parents are no longer together, they still continue to take their trips among the country sides of where they now reside.

Her father, Dennis Reynolds, who still resides in Colorado, was a western artist who utilized much of the surrounding areas as well as the scenery in the Rocky Mountains in his paintings.  Although he doesn’t paint western art today, he still continues to paint beautiful landscapes, portraits, and more.

Her mother, Erin Reynolds (Carey), who now resides in California, whose love was for flowers, would also utilize local surroundings as well as areas in the Rocky Mountains for her paintings.  If she saw a home adorned in beautiful rose bushes, flower arrangements, or the home was just beautiful in itself, she would take snap shots of these and incorporate them in to a painting later.

Ginger also has other relatives in her family who are artists, the most well known one being her aunt, is June Carey.  Her artwork is easily found on the internet, just “Google” her name.

Although Ginger was surrounded by artists growing up, she is mostly a self-taught artist.  She did have some helpful tips from her parents every now and again, but most of her learning was done on her own.  The person who probably played the biggest role in her art is her father.  He would constantly encourage and offer his advice in her creations.  Ginger said lovingly of her father, “He is my biggest fan, and my worst critic.”  It has definitely helped in her continuing in her art today.

Her mother has also helped encourage Ginger in other ways, which has been to continue to get an education.  As a result of this encouragement, she has already obtained a certificate in competency in web design, and is now pursuing a Bachelor’s of Science (BS) degree in the field of Media Arts and Animation.

Not much of the art that Ginger has created through the years has survived today, after many obstacles up to this point, much was destroyed and ruined.  This site is the “rebirth” of Ginger’s art, so it will constantly be changing and growing as new pieces are created and added.  Ginger has moved around quite a bit, but now calls New Mexico home.
